As I stated earlier, in 1992 I became an over-the-road truck driver. In the fall of that year, my father passed away. When you're driving down the road in a big truck, you have the opportunity to do lots of thinking. To meet the CDL class-a requirements on your own all you have to do is go and take the CDL test at your local Secretary of State office. They will give you a written test and a practical test. This is very possible. I have met a lot of truckers that didn't go to a Truck driving school. They learned it right at home growing up. They either grew up on a farm, or their dad took them on the road trucking. These guys who grew up on trucking really have the Hr licence near me advantage with the experience they learned through the years.
Because really, why should the state care if you can do a blindside parallel park? It's not like you're going to be using this maneuver to jockey into a parking space on the public roadways.

You must be able to pass a physical exam and a drug test given by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This is to ensure you have no physical conditions (or substance abuse) that will interfere with the safe handling of a commercial truck. During your employment, you will also be subject to random drug testing. You must also pass the physical exam every two years while employed as a truck driver.
